Another project on the go for the SBS Group team – the $30 million dollar EGO Pharmaceuticals global headquarters centre, involving fabrication of lightweight framing systems for the external facade and features.
The 3 storey building includes a manufacturing facility of 80,000 square metres and office space of 9,000 square metres, under construction by Hacer Group with final completion expected in late 2017.
The architect, Crosier Scott, initially sought the services of SBS Group during the design stage, with interest into how we could apply our SBS Smart Frame lightweight technology for the facade. Following several design meetings, the SBS estimating team created a pre-fabricated proposal for the external fin, stairwell and stepped facade elements as opposed to a traditional timber or structural steel alternative, making it easier for the architect to draw and specify the facade.
Following our successful bid to the builder, the final contract was signed and the project handed over to the SBS drafting and project management team. The first frames will be leaving our factory in the next six weeks or so.
By integrating all the steps of the facade into our pre-fabricated design, the builder only has to build the flat face line to work to, saving valuable on site time by speeding up the overall facade process. Yet another BUILD SMARTER approach by SBS Group.
