The facade feature and complex shapes at Deakin University, Burwood proved a challenge to the builder and contractor alike.
With 3D exhaust shaft flues created with cranked lines and colours, SBS Group were called to assist and find alternative solutions to what would otherwise be expensive structural steel. After consulting with the architect, contractors and builder, SBS successfully delivered and engineered innovative clinch riveted and efficient framing, saving time and therefore reducing on site costs.
Frames were delivered to site in module form, joined together and simply craned into position. Cladding was then directly fixed to the frame without top hats, creating an economical and effective result.
Another creative outcome by SBS, made possible by the versatility of Ultra Frame solutions.
