The Gift of ‘Speech and Sound’: Supporting the Tarayle Foundation

20 June 2017

As part of our SBS Support. Donate. Volunteer program, one employee per month is asked to suggest a charity of their choice for our monthly donation.

For our June donation, our Production Manager Ben, nominated the Tarayle Foundation.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Taralye (pronounced “Taralee”) is one of the world’s leading early intervention centres for children with hearing loss and their families. They have been teaching children with hearing loss to listen and speak since 1968, and currently support more than 260 children and their families across Victoria.

Taralye’s mission is to enhance life opportunities for children who are deaf by working closely with their families to deliver evidence-based programs, by participating in research, and by advocating on their behalf.

It’s our privilege to be able to support such an incredible organisation and help a little towards giving the gift of ‘speech and sound’.

Here’s what Ben had to say:

“Thank you SBS for supporting this invaluable cause – both my girls are hearing impaired so certainly your donation will assist in paying for the resources that the centre needs to diagnose and assist families with special needs”.
