  • Framing Used SBS Smart Frame / Pre-Fabricated Top Level Wall and Roof Truss Framing

When award-winning developer Setia teamed up with one of Australia’s leading architect Fender Katsalidis, it resulted in the impressive Maison Carnegie complex.

With 48 luxury apartments over four levels, quality workmanship and best practice sustainable features were a focus. With traditional timber framing originally documented, the construction team opted to take advantage of light gauge steel wall and roof truss framing on the top level. This eliminated the rotting, twisting or straightening of conventional timber walls, and helped reduce building time, resulting in overall project cost savings.

Staggered stud walls were fabricated by SBS Group off site, with framing installed fast and efficiently by our preferred installation teams. The lightweight steel frames were easy to install, and light enough to be manually man-handled without the need for specialised lifting equipment. The use of the cold formed steel framing system, rather than a hybrid method of structural steel and timber, resulted in a large reduction of building components required to complete the project.
